The Menlo Park Diner Uses Glass Blocks To Attract Customers Like Flys To The Light

Glass blocks are common in commercial establishments such as restaurants, bars and other commercial buildings. They have benefits other than just looking good, but looking good is usually sufficient enough. Glass blocks are most commonly used  as walls/partitions, bars, and windows. They let a great deal of natural light into the restaurants and bars which both saves money and looks more appealing. This diner in Edison, New Jersey was undergoing some renovations and had a desire to make their establishment a little more attractive and change the design a little bit. They did just that using our ever-so-versatile glass blocks.

The Menlo Park Diner in Edison, New Jersey is located on Route 1 and has been around for a long time. They had contacted us during their search for window alternatives as they were looking to undergo slight renovations. We ended up supplying and installing all of the glass block that covers the entire front and part of the sides of this diner. The front of the diner is facing East so in the early morning hours when the sun hits these glass blocks the diner lights up like a Christmas tree. Additionally, during the sunset the colors flow and bounce off creating a nice color wave both inside and outside of the diner. Inside, the sunlight makes the diner brighter than the lights inside can, not to mention the glass block work looks amazing and still together doing its job.

The owner of the diner thanked us and complemented us on a job well done all these years ago. We are more than happy to oblige when requests like these come in because its exciting to see how businesses incorporate our glass block into their design ideas while also taking advantage of their functionality. We recently visited the diner and the blocks look as good as ever (the food is pretty good too) and actually noticed a few people glancing up at the bright glass blocks on their way inside.

We are thrilled that this diner decided to use our glass blocks and will be anxiously waiting for our next one.
